A new bar is set to open soon in Leicester city centre, and judging by the artist’s impressions, it’s going to be very stylish and very pink.
Audrey is coming to the St Nicholas Place premises formerly occupied by The Legendary Lab.
It has also previously been home to The Fish and The Chip restaurant, and Maiyango.
Now, according to the owners of Audrey, the new bar will bring a new experience “for anyone and everyone that loves quality drinks, pink aesthetic and to dance the night away”.
The owners say they feel the name Audrey suits the aesthetic and the impression they’re trying to leave people with.
“That impression being quality when it comes to service, food, drink and the small personal touches to make you feel good,” the owners said.
“The location felt perfect for us, the High Street is buzzing at the moment with great operators and we’d love to be able to add to that with a completely different offering.”
The venue will have a ‘soft panther’ charcoal exterior with ‘pink daisy’ doors, and inside, there will be a reclaimed wooden floor, pink ceiling and off white/cream walls, gold/brass finishing and white marble table tops.
The bar’s flamingo logo will take centre stage in the middle of the room along with parts of foliage to break up the colours.
Initially, customers will be able to enjoy drinks and bar snacks, with small and sharing plates set to be added soon, to complement the drink offerings.
A main feature of the bar will be the classic cocktail menu, with a unique variation for each. For example, you can order a dark chocolate espresso martini, a kiwi pornstar or a blueberry French martini.
Additional menus will include wine and fizz, chosen by Pedro, the sommelier at Leicestershire’s only Michelin-starred restaurant John’s House, a range of flavoured gins, as well as an extensive tea coffee menu and soft drinks.
Audrey is being launched by three business partners – PJ, a Leicester DJ who goes by the artist name Yumna Black; Ruby, who previously organised the private and corporate events for the Rt. Hon. The Earl Spencer and family at Althorp, before launching her own events company ‘Roo Ventures’; and Nico, who has been championing the night-time economy in Leicester since 2012, and has organised many shows at the O2 Academy with his events and record label company Beastwang.
Audrey is set to open on Friday, May 28, and bookings will open at 4pm on Tuesday, May 25, via its website.
Opening hours will be Wednesday 2pm – 12am, Thursday 2pm – 1am, Friday 2pm-3am, Saturday 2pm-3am, Sunday 2pm-1am. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
