The first list of confirmed stallholders for a new farmers’ market planned for a historic Coventry Street has been revealed.
Spon Street is set to host the event on Sunday, May 30, celebrating craft products and retailers from the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
The street will be closed to vehicles and open only to pedestrians in what organisers hope will be the first of many markets to be followed by a Christmas event in December.
More than a dozen vendors have already confirmed their participation, with as many as 40 businesses expected to be selling their wares at the event.
The confirmed vendors include:
- Warwickshire Honey
- Brookies Bake House
- The Boxx n Bar (street food)
- Smokey Bros (street food)
- The Lost Farm (butcher)
- Beauty Candles
- Bree’s MmmNandiHomemade (sauces)
- Good Wreath (door wreaths)
- Caravan at the Cottage (street food)
- The Smelly Girls (wax melts)
- Debra Jackson Designs (jewellery)
- Seriously Dough (bakes)
- Art by Karley (jewellery)
- The Fabulous Fudge Company
- Newbold Spirit
- Hangry Moose Burgers
- Brownie Box by Emily (bakes)
One of the Spon Street Farmers’ Market organisers, Luke Truslove, was delighted with the interest shown so far.
“It’s been fantastic to have so many people get in touch already who wish to take part in the market,” said the owner of the Green Dragon in Spon Street.
“We’re looking at getting as many as 40 different stallholders on the day.
“We’ve got a lot to shout about in Coventry and Warwickshire with so many incredible craft producers and retailers, bringing it all into one place on Spon Street, feels like a great fit.”
Samoan Joes will be providing the entertainment on the day, securing a number of performers to showcase their talents including X-Factor star, Charlie Healy.
