A huge power cut is currently affecting more than 1,000 properties in and around Birmingham city centre.
Almost 2,500 properties were said to have been initially affected, but power was swiftly restored at 1,015 addresses.
As of 8.30pm there were still 1,287 homes and businesses without power in B15 and parts of the B16 area, Western Power confirmed.
The power cut was first reported at 7.45pm.
According to the Western Power website, it should be restored by 9.30pm tonight, May 11.
The company said the outage was down to a fault on the underground network.
They tweeted: “We are sorry about the power cut in Birmingham B15 and surrounding areas.
“Engineers are working to have all properties back on by 21:30.”
A post on Western Power’s website read: “There is currently a fault on our underground network. We are working hard to resolve this.
“Engineers are on the way and our estimated restoration time is 9:30pm on Tuesday 11th May 2021.”
