Carragher sends transfer advice to Villa skipper Grealish
Jamie Carragher has told Jack Grealish he would be better off staying at Aston Villa if an opportunity to join Manchester United arises this summer.
Villa skipper Grealish was enjoying another brilliant season in the Premier League and on the international stage for England before getting injured in February.
He has missed Villa’s last 11 games with a shin problem but still has six goals and 10 assists to his name in the top-flight this season and only Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne have created more big chances.
Grealish was being talked about as a potential Player of the Year contender before his injury – which Villa hope will have subsided before Sunday’s clash at home to United.
The former Liverpool defender told Sky Sports:
I don’t think he would fit in here at Old Trafford just because of the players they’ve got, not his talent.
They already have Pogba playing on the left now, Fernandes, Rashford likes to play on that side. I don’t think he’s a must for Manchester United, I think he’s definitely got the quality.
I think Jack Grealish is someone who loves to run with the ball and I don’t think there’s too many players like that, I love watching him.
I think he’s a super player, and when you run with the ball and dribble with the ball, you’re going to get people trying to take it off you.
