Coffee fans will soon be able to grab a Costa on the go at a new drive-thru in Leicester.
The coffee shop will be located at Meridian Business Park, and work has just got underway.
The drive-thru is being constructed by Warwick-based MCS Group, and with work expected to take 16 weeks, it should be open this summer.
We revealed last year that Costa submitted a planning application to Meridian for a store and car park, close to the McDonald’s restaurant.
The site, which was previously being used as a private car park, overlooks the roundabout near to Lubbesthorpe Way.
According to the plans, there will be pedestrian access to the store, as well as the drive-thru lane.
There are already two Costa drive-thrus in Leicestershire – in Grange Retail Park, Loughborough, and Adcock Road, Coalville.
Founded in London by Italian brothers Sergio and Bruno Costa in 1971, Costa Coffee is present in 41 countries around the world, with more than 2,700 coffee shops in the UK and Ireland and more than 1,100 globally.
As well as a wide range of coffees and other drinks including iced Frostinos, Costa serves food such as pastries, cakes and bakes, as well as sandwiches, paninis and toasties.
