Two year groups at a primary school in Coventry have been asked to remain at home after positive cases of Covid-19.

Both nursery classes and both reception classes at Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Holbrooks, have had their social bubbles closed after two people tested positive for the virus.

The school, on Penny Park Lane, said both year groups use the same areas of the school, which is why both have been asked to stay at home.

The rest of the school is open as normal after all students returned on Monday, March 8.

It is unknown when the nursery and reception groups are expected to return.

A spokesman said: “After two positive cases of COVID-19 were identified at Holy Family Primary School, two social bubbles have had to close, which includes two reception classes and two nursery classes who use the same setting both morning and afternoon. The rest of the school remains open as normal.

“All staff and parents have been contacted by the school and the appropriate actions have been taken.

“This is a timely reminder that we must all remain vigilant and that we all have a part to play in containing the spread of COVID-19”.
