Coventry City gave themselves a huge boost in their quest for Championship survival by taking the full three points against relegation rivals Derby County.

And the magnificent 1-0 Sky Blues victory came as no surprise to EFL on Quest presenter Colin Murray and his studio guest Dean Ashton as they ran the rule over the game.

The pair picked out City’s “incredible” record at St Andrew’s while hailing Callum O’Hare as the best final third ball winner in the division.

Starting with an observation about the Rams, Murray said: “They’ve gone from looking like the only way was up but now they find themselves back in it.

“There’s no doubt the right team got the three points today.”

Asked who stood out for him, Ashton picked out three Coventry players who made the difference at both ends of the pitch.

“I thought (Kyle) McFadzean was excellent, Max Biamou as well which you could see with his goal and the way he led the line.”

Ashton also pointed to livewire No.10 Callum O’Hare who intercepted a Nathan Byrne pass to send striker Biamou on his way for the decisive 11th minute goal.

“O’Hare has been so impressive and that’s five assists in his last seven home games, and that’s because he gets his angles spot on with his closing down,” he said.

“He wins the ball more than anyone else in the final third in this division and Matt Clarke couldn’t make the challenge (on Biamou) because he’s already been booked earlier in the game.

“Biamou does brilliantly to just cut across him and finish brilliantly.

“Since they have become tenants at St Andrew’s, they’ve only lost six in 35”

“But obviously with the Ricoh on the horizon is good news, but that record at St Andrew’s is incredible.”

Murray added: “It’s crazy isn’t it!

“A good playing surface at the Ricoh is hopefully going to be key, and you’d rather they be playing at home rather home away from home, if you know what I mean.”
