Emma Willis says she won’t stop son Ace from experimenting and expressing himself.
The Brummie TV personality, from Sutton Coldfield, got tongues wagging last year with a post of her boy dressed up in colourful clothing and with bright, dyed hair.
Emma, a former Big Brother presenter who now hosts The Voice UK, was hailed for breaking down gender stereotypes.
The Voice presenter Emma, 44, said they were ‘expressing themselves’ for Children’s Mental Health Week, and the praise came flooding in.
Emma, who is married to Busted singer Matt Willis, said their brood were ‘raised in exactly the same way, yet all completely unique.’
She told The Sun : “I think it’s a really individual, personal thing. You know, my son likes what he likes, and far be it for me to stop him expressing himself or experimenting however he likes with clothes.
“I see it as hair is hair, clothes are clothes and colour is colour. And, you know, if my son wants to wear a pink top, I’m certainly not going to stop him.
“Let kids explore. Kids love exploring. And they don’t just have to explore in the dirt with worms and spiders, they can explore with colour and clothes and hair. I just let him be him.”
Last year she helped to ‘break down gender stereotypes’ as she shared photo of Ace with long blonde hair and wearing a pink cropped T-shirt and matching trainers.
She replied with a fist-bump emoji and love heart when one follower told ‘judgy’ commenters to ‘get a life.’
