A Forest of Dean couple and their once-rusting campervan are due to be featured on a BBC 2 programme on Monday evening.
‘My Unique B&B’ will be airing at 6.30pm on Monday, March 1, and will show the restoration journey of Georgina and Al’s Mercedes campervan, Cosmo.
Cosmo the RV sat dilapidated in Georgina and Al’s back garden, in St Briavels, for quite some time, after transporting the couple and their family around the country and beyond on memorable holidays and rainbow camp trips for years.
This was before being scouted by BBC producers for a programme centered around quirky B&Bs.

“Al had Cosmo before I met him, and he went to Portugal in it,” said Georgina McLeod.
“Then when we met, we went touring around Britain with our four kids to rainbow camps; when we got together, my twins were three, and my boys were five and seven.
“The BBC were scouting in the area, and a contact of a contact knew about our old rusting Mercedes.
“It was a mess – it was a right state.”
After sending some audition tapes in, Georgina, a 52-year-old sustainability worker, said that there was then a waiting game when it came to filming, due to Covid.
Luckily, the situation allowed for the programme to be filmed in a socially distanced way in August.
Presenter Simon Parfett came to visit Georgina, Al and Cosmo in St Briavels, and talked the couple through design ideas for Cosmo.
The couple then enlisted the help of 15 friends to do most of the hard work in just two weeks.
“It was fantastic.” said Georgina.
“It is absolutely out of this world, guests love it. Everyone says it’s just magical.
“He’s got so many memories – Al had him for probably about 14 years and it’s nice to take something out of our family heritage [and preserve it].”
The ‘George and Al’s Van’ episode of ‘My Unique B&B’ airs at 6.30pm on BBC 2 tonight.
