A busy stretch of road in Warwick has been sealed off by police this afternoon.
Emscote Road has been blocked after officers from Warwickshire Police were called to concerns over the welfare of a man in a property on the street.
Access is currently blocked between Grenville Road and the Grand Union canal bridge near the Tesco petrol station.
Posting to its social media channels, the force said: “Officers have sealed off an area of Warwick after concern was raised for the welfare of a man at a property in Emscote Road. Please avoide the area if you can.”
Warwick Town Council also used their Twitter account to warn people away from the area citing a current police incident.

Residents on social media had been querying what was happening to force the road closure with one saying: “Blimey, all kicking off in Warwick. Major incident declared on Emscote Road, can’t leave my road.”
Another claimed they had seen at least four police vehicles near the Elephant and Castle Pub.
Emscote Road is a main road in and out of Warwick to the East side of the town crossing both the Grand Union canal and River Avon into Leamington Spa.
