A curry with a difference has been launched by Indian restaurant Tamatanga and food delivery company Deliveroo.
The Nutella Chicken Masala has been created to celebrate World Nutella Day, which is this Friday, February 5.
Tamatanga has a restaurant in Highcross, Leicester, from where local Deliveroo customers will be able to order the sweet and savoury creation from today, February 2, until Sunday, February 7.
Tamatanga chef Himanshu Khurana spent weeks perfecting the limited-edition curry, which features whole red chilli, spices, coconut milk, lime zest, garlic and coriander stems, as well as Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread, coating chicken tikka pieces.
Aman Kular, managing director at Tamatanga, said: “Our friends at Deliveroo challenged us with creating a truly mouth-watering Nutella curry, and to our surprise, we were blown away by the results.
“For decades people have used nuts to make rich and creamy sauces, and many chefs will know you also experience a depth in food when you match chocolate with chilli. The flavours work so well together – the taste is incredible.”
Arabella Jenkins, of Deliveroo, said: “We shocked Londoners in 2018 by creating the first Nutella Chicken Kebab, and this year, our partners at Tamatanga have succeeded in creating the latest experimental dish that our customers didn’t know they wanted. Curry and Nutella – what’s not to love?”
