With Valentine’s Day just weeks ago – many businesses around Birmingham are promoting their own tasting menus for people to indulge in. Supporting local is something I’m adamant in doing since we still aren’t able to dine out. Aktar at Home
Delivering some of the finest food the city has to offer, Aktar at Home have released not one – but TWO tasting menus to supercharge your Valentine’s Day. The set menu consists of a spectacular looking package filled with additional snacks and petit fours. Diners will also receive two mini bottles of Veuve Clicquot Rosé Champagne & prestige wine flight curated by their very own team of sommeliers. Collection will be from Opheem on Friday 12th February between 16:00-19:00. For nationwide delivery – order by the end of Wednesday 10th February to be shipped pronto. Pulperia food is ridiculous value for money and the food is honestly superb. I can vouch for this and visited when it wasn’t illegal to eat inside a restaurant – their lunch time offering is stunning! Their Argentinian Valentine’s menu promises to be ‘Bold and flavoursome‘, featuring smoked octopus carpaccio, wild boar & beef shin ragu and 1kg angus ribeye as well as sides, nibbles and other tasty surprises from their Pulperia’s chefs. On top of this meat feast, prepare to knock back some aperitifs and a bottle of Mendoza Malbec. Same shipping details and collection info as above.

The Plough At Home
The Plough exceeds any expectation you might have of pub grub. If you’re yet to try The Plough (or if you currently depend on their weekly takeaway options to keep your appetite satisfied) – you’ll be happy to hear they are serving a high-quality hamper for two in time for Valentine’s Day. If the thought of Buttered Lobster Risotto or Beef Wellington tickles your fancy (vegetable options also available), the package will be personally prepared by The Plough’s team of chefs. Hampers can be collected on 13th February – served either with or without the extras and booze. If you really fancy yourself a luxury three-course meal for two which is super easy assemble at home, dive right in and order before they’re gone.

Little Blackwood Valentine’s Day Dinner.
Expect a double-whammy from Little Blackwood as they’re offering both a Valentine’s Dinner package AND a special Valentine’s Day Sunday Roast on the same day. Super hungry? Why not order both! Their V-Day package sounds fab, and it’s the duck starter that might push people to order. Available for collection on Saturday 13th February or Sunday the 14th February – 4 courses will be available from Little Blackwood for £95 per couple. They’ll be serving either Fillet of beef Wellington to share or

Having tried Rochers for the first time over the Christmas break, I can wholeheartedly say theirs was one of the nicest Afternoon Teas in Birmingham. Right now they are showcasing their Valentine’s day tea spectacular which also sits close to Chinese Lunar New Year. From this they have created both a standard and vegetarian menu to celebrate the occasion. Bookings are going fast and half the allocations have already been sold. Having recently teamed up with Heaven Sent Boldmere / Lichfield, people who want to go the extra mile to pamper loved ones can order a Deluxe Spa Indulgence Box separately (£18) alongside some gift vouchers for when their spa is back open. Back in October, Antona at Home launched a nationwide delivery service that brought together meals from Simpsons Restaurant in Edgbaston, The Cross at Kenilworth and Stu Deely’s place in JQ. On Valentine’s Day, customer can experience a Valentine’s Menu Box from £90 per person or the Vegeterian Menu for £60. Pre-order yours by midday on Tuesday 9th February for Nationwide Delivery on the Friday 12th and Saturday 13th February. Their regular three course menus at £45 are also available during this week.

It’s so surprise to see Ox and Origin’s Valentine’s Day menu (£55pp) completely sold out, but I wanted to include it here as they will be compiling a cancellation list just in case so keep on their socials to see any changes. To see what you could have won, see their full Valentine’s Day menu here.
I’m sad (but also thrilled for them!) to say the Artisan Epicurean Valentine’s Meal – (£45pp) is another Valentine’s offer that was sold out rather quickly. The Valentine’s weekend menu landed ahead of the game on January 10th and their dinner boxes can usually be delivered within 6 mile radius of Harborne. Their menu looks outstanding. Be sure to follow them on social if you’re not already doing so.
