One area of Bedworth has the highest Covid-19 rate in the entire borough – above 700.
The Woodlands area of the town is, according to the latest and most reliable data on the Government’s interactive map, is the hardest hit area.
The rate in the area, as of the seven days leading up to January 12, stood at 747.3 per 100,000 people.
The area with the next highest rate is also in Bedworth.
The Coalpit Field and Exhall area, during the same seven day period, had a rate of 620.1 per 100,000 people.
Bedworth town centre had the third highest rate – at 552.6 per 100,000 people during the same seven day period.
The Camp Hill area of Nuneaton had the fourth highest rate – and the highest in Nuneaton – with 533.5 per 100,000 people.
Next is the Tomkinson Road area, with a rate of 522.4 per 100,000 population.
Nuneaton town centre is sixth highest and, as of the seven days leading up to January 12, had a rate of 497.6 per 100,000 people.
It is hoped that the combination of the national lockdown and the roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccination should start having an impact on the borough.
While the figures for the two towns are not the highest in Warwickshire, the borough’s rates are the second highest.
