Hopes of getting a PS5 in time for Christmas are now fading fast – but Sony has promised stock by the end of the year so there may not be too many days to wait.
There were rumours of GAME getting more stock on Christmas Eve but that has now been ruled out and the latest talk is of more consoles landing on December 31.
When we checked the GAME website the PlayStation 5 was definitely ‘out of stock.’
You might want to pop into your nearest branch of GAME to see if there are any that are not listed online but it looks like the end of the year is the best bet right now, if not sometime in the new year.
Meanwhile, there appear to be PS5s up for grabs at the WeBuy website. It’s listed there as ‘in stock online’ with the site selling for £815 and offering to buy for £625.
That’s much higher than regular retail prices. But it may be tempting for some.
So what about other retailers? Here’s the latest round-up.
Online retailer Very shared a statement to its website, which reads: “Unfortunately we have sold out of our PS5 consoles for now. We have more stock coming so keep checking back for our next drop.”
A note on Amazon’s website says the retailer does not know “when or if” the PS5 will be back in stock.
In a message on the Argos website, it has confirmed to customers that the PS5 is now out of stock – and it is not expecting more for the rest of 2020.
The statement said: “Sorry, PlayStation5 is currently unavailable. We will not have any further stock for the rest of 2020.”
Smyths has now sold out of its allocated stock. A message on the retailer’s website says that PS5 stock is now not expected until January 2021.
Retailer Studio is now out of stock, though shoppers can register their interest online now.
A statement on the John Lewis website said: “Thank you to everyone who has visited us and placed an order for a PS5. We are now out of stock.
“Unfortunately, PlayStation 5 consoles will not be available for purchase at our John Lewis & Partners shops or from our contact centres.”
Maplin currently has the PS5 listed at ‘out of stock’.
Curry’s PC World
A note on Curry’s website says the retailer is “working tirelessly to secure more stock” and customers should check back for updates.
According to BT’s website, the store had sold out of its PS5 allocation.
