From behind the wheels of their cars, people in Cheltenham witnessed a stunning firework extravaganza.
A drive-in firework display, held at Cheltenham Racecourse, allowed onlookers to see a colourful display while adhering to all coronavirus social distancing guidelines.
Cars headed to the racecourse to catch a bit of festive sparkle in the run up to Christmas.
Drive-in events are still permitted by the Government in Tier 2, which Gloucestershire is in.
The event, organised by Celebration Pyrotechnics, was the first of its kind at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Prior to the event, Tom Bricknell from Celebration Pyrotechnics said: “We’ve liaised with the venue and local authorities and we’re pleased that our socially distanced drive-in firework display concept can take place safely and as planned at Cheltenham Racecourse on the Saturday before Christmas.

“We held a similar event at Exeter at the weekend, also a tier two area, and received numerous compliments about who well the event was organised and that visitors felt safe within the socially distant environment created to enjoy the display.”
