WESTFIELDS waltzed into the FA Vase fourth round following a convincing 5-0 victory at Radford.
A brace from Richard Greaves was accompanied by further goals from Sirdic Grant, Keanu Cooper and Henry Dyde to put the club into the last 32 of the competition.
“It was a really good win obviously going away in the FA Vase are always tricky ties but the lads were very good on the day,” said manager Phil Glover.
“It could and should have been more. It was a dominant performance from start to finish.
“Radford were very complimentary of us which was nice and the lads performed very well.”
Westfields got off to a dream start in Nottingham when they scored two goals in the first 11 minutes.
First, Aidan Thomas cross was met at the far post by Grant to put Westfields ahead with a close-range effort.
Two minutes later it was Grant who provided the opportunity and this time he laid on the perfect pass for Greaves to slot home from 12 yards out.
After the break Westfields again took up the running and after 67 minutes Greaves turned provider when he created a chance for Cooper who guided a low shot home to put Westfields 3-0 ahead.
A few minutes later Greaves netted his second when on a quick counter-attack put Thomas clear down the flank who crossed for the marksman to put them into an unassailable 4-0 lead.
Five minutes from time Westfields put the game beyond any doubt when substitute Dyed slotted home a left-foot shot from just the edge of the penalty area.
“Richard (Greaves) has been great for us also and when he’s match fit he’s a good a player in our league,” added Glover about man of the match Greaves.
“He holds the ball up really well and gets on the end of things.
“It helps with the wingers we’ve got at the club as well with Sirdic (Grant) and Aiden (Thomas) on the other side.
“It creates Rich a lot more chances. He gets in the right place and for a big lad he’s got great feet and composure.
“Overall I’m really happy at the moment.”
