Primark will still be opening overnight on December 18 at the Fort in Birmingham – despite the city staying in tier three.

The fashion department previously revealed that it would be opening 11 stores for 24 hours including extending hours in all stores on the run-up to Christmas.

Primark is hoping that the extended hours along with later closing times means more people will visit their stores and spend their hard-earned cash.

Primark announced that different stores will have different opening and closing times depending on what type of store they are.

For example, High Street stores in towns will be open until 8pm while major High Street stores will remain open until 10pm.

And its Fort store will open overnight into December 19 alongside a raft of other shops across the country.

Trafford Centre, York Monks Cross, Leeds White Rose, Bluewater, Lakeside and Meadowhall are all affected, as well as Metro Charlton, Braehead and Middlesbrough.

Simon Gibbs, Retail Director for Primark UK & Northern Europe said: “The safety of our employees and customers remains our highest priority. The ability to stay open  through the night has meant more shoppers can shop safely with us over the festive season.

“We would like to thank customers for their continued cooperation on our social distancing policy and  remind them to be considerate of our safety measures, and of others, both while queuing outside and  in-store.”

There are a number of stores across Birmingham, Black Country and Worcestershire that you might be interested in visiting.
