With less than two weeks to go until the big day, it may be Father Christmas’s busiest time of the year, but he is making some time to pay a visit to Leicestershire – and you can join him!
Sileby venue The Green Place is holding a ‘Round the Camp-fire with Father Christmas’ event this coming weekend, when families will be able to meet Father Christmas in his camp-fire grotto.
The event will run on Friday, December 18 and Saturday, December 19.
You’ll need to book a time to see Father Christmas, but you’ll be able to arrive up to 20 minutes earlier to soak up the atmosphere, as the garden will be illuminated with festive film projections, fairy lights and fires.
Once in the magical outdoor grotto, you’ll be able to sit with your family around the warming camp-fire and chat to Father Christmas.

You’ll also have the chance to have your photograph taken in the grotto before receiving your present from Santa’s helper.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to make a free shadow puppet and buy gifts.
As well as enabling you to have a fun time with your family, your visit to The Green Place will also be helping the environment.
That’s because for every family that attends, a native tree sapling will be planted at the local wildlife trust nature reserve, Cossington Meadows.
The Green Place founders are expecting to plant around 100 trees this winter.
Over the past six years, The Green Place has used a yurt to create the magic of Santa’s grotto, but due to Covid-19, it came up with this creative open-air alternative for Christmas 2020.
Bookings will be open from today at 6pm. Times to visit on Friday and Saturday will be from 3.30pm until 7pm.
The cost for a child (including gift) is £8.00 and accompanying adults is £3.00. Accompanying children under one year old do not need a ticket (but will not receive a gift).
Places will be limited and can only be booked for household groups.
