Christmas is very different this year and some children may miss not being able to see Father Christmas and sit on his knee in his grotto.
But you can still get a video call from the main man himself to chat about all things Christmas and the naughty and nice lists this month.
Ventriloquist and magician Colin Dymond, 58 from Stonehouse is good friends with Father Christmas and has worked closely with him. He knows a lot about what the man is red is doing this year and how he is trying to adapt like the rest of the world is following the pandemic.
Colin said: “Santa has a shed. Like most men, even Santa needs a place to think to come up with his best ideas.
“In his shed he has a special telephone where he can sometimes make a video call to a child or even do a pre-recorded message.
“I know that Santa has missed being able to do what he usually does visiting so many children. He told me that hearing a child laugh was one of the best sounds in the world.
“He really misses visiting the children in hospital as well. Everyone has to stay safe though.”
If you are interested in booking a call with Santa there is a fee but more information can be found at the Santa Message Service website.
Colin also works with a cheeky puppet called Erich the elf.
He said: “I started working in children’s entertainment about 25 years ago. I am part of the Magic Circle. There was a Magic Circle dealers day and I came across a parrot puppet and it went from there.
“I have always wanted to be a performer. Even as a child I wanted to be a rock star.
“So children’s entertainment was good for me when I was a house husband with the children.
“Erich the elf is very funny. He is part of a children’s show and he often talks about silly ideas for Elf on the Shelf.

“Things are very different because of the pandemic.
“I know though Santa is busy doing Zoom calls with children, so that is brilliant.”
