A festive film screening is to take place just outside Coventry.

This year has been a bit of a dud for film fans, with cinemas closed on and off due to various coronavirus restrictions and national lockdowns.

But it’s ending on a high as drive-in cinema Nightflix comes to town.

One of their venues is Stoneleigh Park and they’ll be screening festive classics old and new.

Organisers say the events are completely Covid safe and all government guidelines on social distancing and track and trace will be followed.

The sites will be fully decked with festive cheer so that film fans can get into the Christmas mood. Visitors can also enjoy their usual favourite cinema snacks with their film as food and drink will be available to purchase on site, with social distancing guidelines in place to assure moviegoers safety.

What’s being shown?

In December, film fans can enjoy classics such as Elf, The Polar Express, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Arthur Christmas, Home Alone, Love Actually, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Die Hard.

The event also goes on into January with films including Wonder Woman 1984, The Secret Garden, Goldfinger, Moulin Rouge, Peter Rabbit, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Jaws, Fight Club, Dirty Dancing and many more.

Bringing festive film cheer

Nightflix owner John Sullivan said: “This year has been a tough one for film fans without access to their local cinemas, and we’re delighted to be able to bring a Christmas schedule packed with something for everyone to enjoy in socially-distanced drive-ins around the country.

“These films are so strongly associated with the festive feeling, and even in areas under strict lockdown the drive-in still lets families enjoy Christmas classics from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles.

“We’re ho-ho-hoping to bring a bit of festive cheer to people with these wonderful films.”
