Prague is a pretty popular travel destination when it comes to European city breaks – and for good reason. Based in the Czech Republic, Prague is located in a country that receives roughly 8 million visitors each year and most tend to visit the capital.

Now, planning a trip to Prague is pretty simple, but you should put plenty of thought into the process. This will help to make sure that everything goes as seamlessly as possible and will give you the biggest chance of doing all of the things you’d like to do while you’re there. Here are just a few pieces of information that will help you to plan the best trip possible.

Planning Accommodation

As with every city break, it’s always best to secure your accommodation before you get there. This will prevent you from wasting time looking for somewhere to stay once you’ve arrived – instead you can simply drop your bags off and get on with your day. By booking in advance, you can also check the quality of different accommodation options available to you. You can read others’ reviews and see how others found their stay. Make sure to check the check out times. If you have to be out of your accommodation in the morning, but your flight isn’t until the night, you will need to look into luggage storage Prague. This will provide you with somewhere to store your belongings so you can make the most of your last day!

Things to Do

Once you’re in Prague, there’s a whole lot to do. Here are a few things you might want to add to your to-do list. Of course, book in advance wherever possible. This can reduce queuing and guarantee entry to the things you want to see.

Prague Castle

Who doesn’t love a European castle? Built in the 9th century, Prague castle was a seat of power for the Kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman Emperors and the presidents of Czechoslovakia. With a size of over 70,000 square metres, this is the largest ancient castle in the world! This is perhaps one of the most common tourist attractions in Prague, with over 1.8 million people visiting it every year. So, why not add it to your checklist?

Charles Bridge

This medieval stone arch bridge crosses the Vltava River. It has been restored numerous times due to flood damage, but still stands strong and looks beautiful. It’s definitely a sight to see while you’re spending time in Prague.

Lennon Wall

The Lennon Wall is a wall absolutely covered in graffiti inspired by John Lennon of the Beatles. Images, lyrics and more all feature as a commemoration to the star. It makes for a great photo!

Kampa Island

Kampa is an island in the Vltava river in central Prague on the side of Malá Strana. It is supposedly named after a sharp-tongued woman who lived in a local home called the Seven Devils. This is a beautiful place to visit if you get the time.

As you can see, Prague has a whole lot to offer visitors. Hopefully, this guide will be able to get your trip off to the best start possible.
