Meghan and Harry have been unable to speak about The Crown “because of an upcoming Nexflix deal”, it has been reported.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have their hands tied to due a multi-million pound Netflix deal that is on the table after series 4 of The Crown was recently aired.
Season 4 of the controversial series recently came out on the streaming service and showed Prince Charles and Diana’s rocky marriage.
But it seems like the couple are staying silent over the show despite other royals sharing their dislike of the show, reports the Mirror.
Speaking on talkRADIO this week, host Mike Graham and journalist Olivia Utley pointed out how the Sussexes have been forced to stay silent about The Crown, even when Harry’s brother Prince William has slammed it to friends as “not a very fair depiction” of his parents’ relationship.

“Meghan and Harry are in a bit of trouble with this over the fact Harry has said nothing about the way in which his mother and father have been portrayed in this series,” said Mike.
Olivia replied: “He has got himself into some hot water. He has got this deal with Netflix so he can’t really say anything.”
She went on to claim Harry will find himself in similar situations in the future because of “massive conflicts of interest”.
“Netflix is where their next paycheck is coming from,” she explained.
” Prince Harry is going to find himself in situations like this surely over and over again.
“How could he have just run off to Hollywood and not realised there are going to be huge consequences?
“There are going to be massive conflicts of interest all the time.”

Season 4 of The Crown covers the period between 1979 to 1990, including Princess Diana’s bulimia, Charles’s affair with Camilla Parker Bowles and Lord Mountbatten’s death.
And while none of the Royal family have publicly commented yet, some members have let slip their feelings to friends – telling of their disappointment over their portrayal.
Camilla, however, has been said to enjoy the Netflix series as entertainment, with one source telling Vanity Fair: “I imagine she’ll be tuning in with a glass of red wine to watch it, she has seen the previous series. She has a wonderful sense of humour and this won’t fuss her in the slightest.’
“She has watched it, of course she has and I believe [Charles] has too. I don’t think she has any real issue with it. Her feeling is very much ‘never complain, never explain’.”
It’s believed The Crown’s writers are planning a fifth and sixth series of the show after the success of the first four.
It’s unclear how far up to the present day they will go, but they are certain to cover the Princess of Wales’ tragic death in a car crash and the subsequent fallout on her two sons and the wider family.
