It’s coming up to the busiest shopping weekend of the year. As we are currently in a lockdown in the UK, shopping is difficult. With Christmas coming up, we are all desperate to make sure we have all of our presents bought and wrapped. Luckily, although the high street shops are mostly closed, we can still shop online. I like to use Black Friday as a chance to treat myself as well as my loved one. This year I have picked up a few bits from Notino including some Black Friday makeup.
I have been wanting to try some makeup from Catrice for a while. While I have tried a couple of lip products, including the lip glow lip balm, I hadn’t tried any of the base products before. I had heard a lot of great things about one of the foundations – the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation.
Over lockdown I had a sort through my makeup and got rid of a few that were old and expired. This meant that I hadn’t got anything that was really full coverage, so I decided to try the HD Liquid Coverage Foundation. I wasn’t sure on which shade I should go for – it can be hard to choose a shade online. Luckily, the one I chose which was Light Beige is a great match.
This foundation is high coverage as the name suggests, however it’s not thick and cakey. I have found that it is really buildable and it doesn’t take a lot of blending like some other high coverage foundations too. I have been using this before work and it lasts a full 8 hour day, even under a mask.
Another brand that I have been wanting to try more products from is Essence. I have previously tried a lot of their eye products – their mascaras come really highly recommended. There’s not a lot of budget makeup brands on the UK high street, so it’s great to be able to buy from Essence at Notino.
After choosing my foundation from Catrice, I decided to get a concealer from Essence. I went for the Essence Camouflage+ Matt concealer. As I am really pale, I went for the shade Light Ivory. This is perfect for my under eyes which is mostly where I need the concealer. I have found that the concealer is great for hiding any dark circles – of which I have a lot of at the moment. At a time when people can only see my eyes due to wearing a mask, I want to make sure that they look great.
I always apply my foundation and concealer with a blending sponge from Essence. I then use a setting powder on top to ensure everything is matt and isn’t going to budge. This concealer is actually waterproof as well, which is perfect.
Are you going to be doing any Black Friday shopping? What essentials will you be picking up for yourself?
