If Demarai Gray wants to play his way back into Brendan Rodger’s plans he’s going the right way about it in Leicester City’s Under-23s.
The 24-year-old is yet to feature for the Foxes in the Premier League this season, being limited to just one senior appearance against Arsenal in the EFL Cup.
But the striker certainly caught the eye this week when he scored both goals to beat West Ham United in the Professional Development League clash when both coaches hailed the winger as the difference on the night.
Gray started up front on Monday, partnering former record signing Islam Slimani in attack.
“Demarai was a threat all night with his speed and how direct he was and he was the difference between the two sides in the end I thought,” said Under-23 boss Sean St Ledger, speaking to the Foxes’ official website.
West Ham coach Dmitri Halajko, meanwhile, was equally glowing in his assessment, saying: “It highlighted what Premier League quality is all about.
