Fans of The Coffee Counter haven’t got much longer to wait until the popular city centre coffee shop reopens.
The Coffee Counter, in Bowling Green Street, will reopen to offer a takeaway and click and collect service from tomorrow, Tuesday, November 24.
And customers visiting the shop will notice some big changes.
Over the eight months that the coffee shop has been closed, it has undergone a huge refurbishment – and we reckon it looks incredible, with its modern Scandinavian style.
According to owner Ariyan, The Coffee Counter is now a place which caters to everyone’s coffee needs, whether that be for retail or wholesale.
He told LeicestershireLive: “We have been roasting since 2016 but at a second location, so the shop has had a full transformation and is now spread across two floors to allow the coffee roaster to take centre stage.”
The ground floor is light and airy and provides a great space for visitors to see the coffee being roasted. It also gives an insight into The Coffee Counter’s wholesale production.
The new coffee bar is kitted out with what Ariyan describes as ‘industry-leading’ coffee equipment and the custom-made peg wall crafted by local engineers houses retail products including coffee beans and home brew equipment.
Downstairs, the basement has been transformed from a dark Victorian ale storage into a warm, relaxing seating area.
You’ll be able to choose your favourite coffee from the drinks menu which features everything from the popular flat white to the manual brew bar offering delicate light roasted coffee for pour over filter.
The food menu will be small to begin with, featuring smashed avocado toast, a Christmas bagel with a twist on freshly baked Turkish bagels, vegan homemade sweet potato and lentil soup and freshly baked goods.
In store you’ll be greeted by Ariyan and partner Bethany, who say they are looking forward to welcoming customers to The Coffee Counter once again.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday 10am until 4pm and Saturday 10am until 3pm.
