We all love a visit to the chippy at any time of year, don’t we?
After all, what could be better than a freshly cooked, piping hot tray of chips sprinkled with salt and vinegar?
Well, how about a freshly cooked tray of chips covered with gravy, topped with a pig in blanket, battered stuffing balls, and served with homemade cranberry sauce.
That’s the festive dish being launched by award-winning Quorn chip shop, John Dory’s Quorn.
The ‘JDQ Christmas Dinner’ will be available from Tuesday, November 24, all the way through to Christmas.
The indulgent treat costs £6.50.
Talking about the new dish, owner Drosos Joannou told LeicestershireLive: “With everything that has gone on this year, and not having the ‘normal’ bonfire night and Halloween – events which make this time of the year feel so special – we thought ‘let’s go all out for Christmas’, something to help people get into the Christmas spirit and to raise some festive cheer!”

John Dory’s Quorn launched in 2018, and last year was recognised with the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Fish and Chip Quality Award.
The NFFF Fish and Chip Quality Award identifies fish and chip outlets that serve the highest quality fish and chips.
Earlier this month, the chip shop received an accolade at the 2021 Good Food Awards.
The awards are invitation-only and each year judges select only the most nominated establishments and also take hygiene ratings into account. John Dory’s received a Good Food Award for Fish and Chips.
John Dory’s Quorn is at 40 Station Road, Quorn. It is open from 4pm until 8.30pm Tuesday to Saturday.
An online click and collect service and Covid-safe walk-in service are both available.
