This is how Coventry’s newest restaurant looks after a makeover was completed.
London Burger Kitchen (LBK) briefly opened its doors in mid-October before government Covid-19 restrictions limited them to a takeaway/collection offering on December 2.
The company is working in partnership with Broadstreet Rugby Club, which is based across the A46 from TGI Fridays, to transform its clubhouse into a spacious restaurant and bar area.
Much of the refurbishment was completed prior to lockdown 2, but management have used the time to add even more finishing touches to the dining and bar areas.
The essence of a rugby club is retained with home and alternative signed Wasps shirts on display.
The Premiership rugby club has had its training base at the Binley Woods venue since 2016. However, they intend to be moved into a new site in Henley by next summer.
Wasps players still use the facilities during the day along with their performance chef Gaurav Abbi, but from 4pm onwards, they become LBK’s to use.
A Leicester Tigers and Fiji shirt are also on the wall, due to one of LBK’s investors being Tigers’ powerhouse back, Nemani Nadolo.
New tables and chairs have been installed that overlook the Broadstreet RFC first-team pitch, which is also used by Wasps players.
A pool table has been introduced along with comfortable seated areas on the car park side of the main room.
