Amir Khan has been involved in a crash on the M6 in the West Midlands, causing massive damage to his £90,000 Mercedes.
The 33-year-old former boxing world champion escaped injury and posted images on social media of the aftermath of the collision, which he described as “like being hit with a combo.”
He said the luxury motor slid on the wet road surface on the southbound carriageway of the motorway between J13 and J12 before hitting a barrier.
Bolton-born Khan posted on his Instagram : “Thank God everyone is safe.
“A scary experience. Car lost control on the motorway #aquaplane. Smashing into the side of motorway barrier felt like being hit with a combo!”
Pictures showed the damaged S350 vehicle front bumper hanging off and dents in the rear end.
Khan is known for his love of luxury cars. The ex-Olympic silver medallist already owns a £271,000 Lamborghini Aventador, a £233,000 Rolls Royce Phantom and a £65,000 Range Rover.
He is married to Faryal Makhdoom and they have three children.
His record in the ring is impressive having held the unified light-welterweight world title, the WBA crown from 2009 to 2012, and the IBF title in 2011.
The boxer, who has family ties to the West Midlands will appear in reality show Meet The Khans: Big In Bolton along with his wife.
It is billed by the BBC as an ‘access all areas’ documentary and is set to air on BBC Three.
