American dirty burgers are now being served up at a new eatery in Coventry.

LBK – London Burger Kitchen Ltd – has opened a restaurant within Broadstreet Rugby Club in Binley Woods.

The clubhouse, which is used in the daytime by Premiership rugby side Wasps, has now been fully refurbished and customers began arriving through the doors in late October.

However, the government’s new lockdown restrictions put a halt to that until December 2, but LBK has carried on offering a delivery and collection service from the site.

What’s on offer?

The mains menu is 12 items deep with favourites like a bacon double cheeseburger and a chilli dog among them.

There’s lamb and mint, pork and apple and a Jack Daniels chicken burger among the items as well as a veggie burger and children’s options.

A wide selection of sauces from LBK gravy sauce to saracha and piri piri can be added for free. The sides are also available without an additional cost. Gerkins, jalapeno peppers, raw or fried onions – there’s plenty of choice.

Fries are available but you have to pay for them to be added to your order.

If you’re after something sweet to go with your meal, there’s desserts and milkshakes too as well as an extensive hot drinks menu.

When the restaurant was briefly open to the public before the restrictions came into force, they also held popular all you can eat ‘wing Wednesdays’.

How much does it cost?

The meat-based main burgers range from the chicken burger at £6.45 to the bacon double cheeseburger at £7.95. The kids burger is £3.95 and the veggie burger is £4.95. There’s a Mac and cheese burger too for £6.95.

What is the LBK story?

The company’s website reveals that LBK is looking to open stores in all major cities around the United Kingdom and is currently focusing on various rugby clubs, football clubs, and sports venues alike.

Business owners Joe and Natalie Taylor have been in the food and drink sector for 30 years and recently returned from a spell in Dubai where they were consultants for various catering companies.

On the burger concept, the website says: “Joe strongly believed he could do much better than the competitors in the burger market today. Joe saw what he thought these chains lacked in quality, personality, and design. Little aspects like freshly baked bread, locally sourced steak mince for the burger patties, English fillet chicken for our famous JD chicken fillet burgers along with many ways Joe has learned and specialised in over the years regards personality Joe wanted to add the London touch so all our LBK restaurants are themed on London.”

Where is it?

So LBK London Burger Kitchen Ltd is based within Broadstreet Rugby Club’s clubhouse at Ivor Preece Field, which is in Binley Woods. It sits on the opposite side of the A46 to TGI Fridays. Deliveries and collections are available and dine-in customers will be welcomed once more when government restrictions are lifted.
