An investigation is underway after a teenager was stabbed by a gang of youths as he left Waverley Studio College.

The 16-year-old victim was knifed in the hand and wrist by the offenders in Belchers Lane, Bordesley Green, at around 2pm on Wednesday (November 11).

West Midlands Police and paramedics were called and the youth was transferred to hospital for further treatment.

A hunt is underway to track down the gang responsible. Officers have also trawled local CCTV.

A force spokesman said: “Around 2pm on 11 November a group of offenders attacked a boy as he was leaving college in Belchers Lane, Bordesley Green.

“The 16-year-old suffered knife wounds to his hand and wrist.

“We’ve launched an investigation to find the people responsible.

“Detectives have conducted an extensive CCTV trawl and made local enquiries.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 2.07pm to reports of a patient who had been stabbed at Waverley Studio College on Belchers Lane.

“We sent one ambulance, a paramedic officer and the West Midlands Care Team.

“We treated a patient, a male, for potentially serious injuries.

“They were taken to hospital for further assessment.”
