England and Leicester City fans have hit out at the decision to leave Foxes duo James Maddison and Harvey Barnes out of the latest Three Lions’ squad.
The duo have been left out by Gareth Southgate who is preparing for games against the Republic of Ireland as well as Nations League clashes against Belgium and Iceland.
Given Leicester’s excellent start to the season, the decision to leave Barnes and Maddison out of the squad was met with bemusement by Foxes and England fans.
And we took to Twitter to see what they had to say.
Blox: “How does Barnes miss out on that England squad on current form? At least it gives him a good rest before a difficult Nov/Dec. Maddison gonna be back to 100% after the break too. He looks so sharp atm.”
Ben the Barber: “No Maddison – this is why I don’t watch England whilst he’s in charge.”
Dink: “That England squad is a strange one, 4 right backs and no Maddison or Harvey Barnes both been decent for Leicester.”
Foxes of Leicester: “No James Maddison or Harvey Barnes in the England squad!? At least they won’t get injured on duty, but the disrespect is real.”
