People faced queues to eat out in restaurants or have a few beers in pubs and bars for the final time before lockdown 2.
In Cheltenham, customers waited for around 30 minutes outside Wagamama in Clarence Street.
While there were also queues outside The Bank House, the Wetherspoon pub next door, as groups of friends went out for a social drink or something to eat.
And this was before 6pm. As the evening drew on, roads and pavements were busy as people made the most of being able to go out.
For many, it was a final taste of night life and socialising before many businesses are forced to close.
In Gianni’s, the restaurant was soon busy with diners coming off the street when it opened at 6pm.
The Barber Shop in Montpellier Street, was doing a roaring trade as town centre car parks filled up.
Many people were seen walking in groups in the street ahead of the restrictions that kick in at a second past midnight.
Early today in Cheltenham, there were queues outside Primark, while people reported having to wait to go into John Lewis.
While Gloucestershire police put on extra patrols to ensure people enjoyed themselves responsibly and didn’t get too carried away.
