We all love having a wander around a new shop and seeing what wacky and wonderful things we could buy.

Whether it’s those absolute bargains or things we never knew we needed it can make the mundane, majestic.

Gloucestershire Live headed down to the new Iceland store in the bigger and better The Range on Tewkesbury Road in the Centrum Business Park.

We’d heard that you could buy some pretty weird things, so we thought we’d head down for ourselves and check it out.

There wasn’t anything particularly outrageous but there were a few things that raised our eyebrows and that was a sufficient enough criteria to make our list of seven.

1) Make Your Own Yoghurt Starter Pack

Make your own yoghurt starter pack for £17.99

In today’s episode of things we never knew we needed, the Make Your Own Yoghurt for the low, low price of £17.99.

We don’t eat yoghurt but if we did and wanted to save ourselves a few pennies on the pots, we know where we’d be going first.

2) An absolutely massive Coke Zero

The biggest Coke Zero we’ve ever seen for £2.50 or two for £4

Who knew you could get coke bottles this big?

Three litres of Coca Cola Zero for £2.50 a bottle or £4 for two. It says ‘Family Sharing’ but we won’t tell if you don’t.

For the latest news near you, enter your postcode below – Powered by In Your Area:

There wasn’t any full fat cokes, just zero and diet but we know a few people absolutely addicted to those silver bottles, so if you know them too let them know Iceland are selling it by the bucket.

3) Big Daddy 16oz Rump Steak

Big Daddy Rump Steak for £5

Similarly to the yoghurt, we’re not really in the market for meat, but for the flesh loving eaters in our lives we think half a cow for only a fiver would be right up their street.

The Big Daddy 16oz Rump Steak could be yours for a third of the prize it would likely cost you in your local Wetherspoons.

Chuck some pig and lamb in there too whilst your at it and have yourself a money saving mixed grill in the comfort of your own home.

4) Novelty Liquorice – this years must have children’s gift

Novelty Liquorice will be on every kids Christmas list this year, probably

Okay so we’re laying it on a bit thick here but in all seriousness, £3 for a fun box of liquorice, where can you go wrong?

Wands, spinny things, traffic light looking sweets – it’s all there. Get yours whilst the goings good.

5) Fancy flavoured fish pieces

Flavorful fish

Even though Iceland have removed one of their Vegan / Vegetarian freezers, they’ve managed to make room for not one but two or maybe even three freezers just filled to the brim with fish.

This one stood out the most to us though, because look at all the flavours.

Who needs spices and other ingredients when you can get it all in one with these fancy flavoured ocean samples.

Salt and Vinegar, Tandoori, Pakora and Scarily Spicy (good one for Halloween), all for £3 a bag. We don’t know if this is a good price for fish but it seems low for a lot so it probably is.

If you want a direct line to the day’s biggest Gloucestershire stories, signing up to our daily newsletter is the way to do it – you will get the news that matters to you direct to your inbox, find out more and get started today.

6) Time for Tea hampers for less than £10 each

Time for tea hampers for less than £10 each

In the most quintessentially British thing ever, for our sixth offering we bring you a Time for Tea hamper for less than £10.

Get a gift set for granny for £4.99 or a big, boujee one for £9.99 for bae. It’s dealer’s choice and oh what a choice.

There’s nothing quite as comforting on these cold winter nights than a piping hot cup of tea or broccoli and stilton soup and crackers on the side.

In the run up to Christmas we think these would make a smashing gift for that special someone or even a Secret Santa surprise.

7) Bacon Spam?

Bacon Spam? We think?

Did you know you could get different flavoured Spam?

In Iceland for barely over a pound you can grab yourself what can only be described as a bacon version of the staple in 1940s diets, Spam.

Bacon Grill, only £1.25 at the Iceland store in The Range and number seven on our weird and wonderful list, although this one we’re definitely pegging as weird.
