Staff and customers were evacuated from an Aldi store in Nuneaton after a suspecetd explosion in the boiler room.

Passers-by noticed people on the car par outside the Aldi store off Weddington Road earlier today (October 31).

Fire engines were also spotted outside the store.

A spokesperson for for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said that they received a 999 call at 11.50am to reports of a suspected explosion in the boiler room at the store.

White watch from Nuneaton Fire Station were among those who responded to the call for help after smoke billowed through the store.

At the time of publication, crews were still at the scene but expected back at the station before 2pm.

It is unclear if the store is re-opening.
