Health bosses have admitted the are still working on plans for a permanent Covid-19 testing centre for Nuneaton.
While Bedworth’s facility is likely to go live at the start of next month, plans for Nuneaton have yet to be finalised.
Initially, it was proposed that the Gala Field car park off Avenue Road could be a possible location for a permanent site.
But a Warwickshire County Council spokesperson said that locations were still being looked at.
“A new local testing service is planned to go live in Bedworth in early November, with further discussions about sites in Nuneaton and in North Warwickshire taking place,” the spokesperson said.
They went on to add: “People should not delay getting tested and should isolate and get tested as soon as they have symptoms.
“The mobile testing unit continues to rotate around the county, including sites in Nuneaton and Atherstone. The Ricoh testing site remains an option for residents in the north of the county, and individuals can also order home tests.”
The Hareifield Road car park in the town centre has been sporadically used as a testing centre.
The army first started using the Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council -owned car park as a testing unit at the start of May – but it was only ever a temporary facility.
CoventryLive previously reported that plans for permanent test centres set-up in both towns have been on the cards for a while as Covid-19 cases have increased across the two towns.
