A major Gloucestershire family firm is opening a new store in Gloucester.
Janes Bakery has announced that another branch is on its way to shoppers in Longford.
It will be the bakery’s eleventh shop to open in Gloucestershire, with eight in Gloucester, one in Brockworth and one in Cheltenham.
Janes Bakery broke the news on social media this morning in a tweet that said: “We are delighted to announce that we are opening a new shop in Longford, Gloucester soon.
“This promises to be an exciting new addition to the business moving forward.
“Can I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued loyalty and support during these challenging times.”
The bakery’s very first branch was opened in 1971 on St Aldate Street by the Janes family.
Since then it has become a well-known brand for its bakeries and catering services.

The brand currently employs about 100 people across its branches, with its headquarters based in Tuffley.
The company recently re-opened their stores for sit-in and takeaway after a temporary closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
