Martin Lewis’ ITV1 show has been bumped from the TV schedule tonight.
The MoneySavingExpert.com founder is usually in the hot seat on ITV1 from 8.30pm on Thursday evenings.
But the financial guru, who is known for his cash-saving tips, tricks, hacks and expertise, has been bumped from the listings on October 8.
He has been removed so ITV can broadcast live coverage of the England football team’s international friendly match versus Wales.
England face Wales in a friendly ahead of their UEFA Nations League matches this weekend.
Mr Lewis took to social media to discuss the axing of the programme – and had a promise for viewers.
He wrote: “No @itvMLshow tonight, we’ve been kicked by the football. I am still heading into the studio though to do first @thismorning followed by putting together a special “successes” episode of my show for a couple of weeks time.”
“Hard one… football or finance?” a viewer joked.
Another wrote: “Finance in this case.. Football without fans in the stadium is just plain boring.”
“Arrrrrrrg I forgot you weren’t on TV tonight, they should have put the football on another ITV channel,” wrote a third.
“Hate football… Taking you off and putting that one makes no financial sense to my mind…” another chipped in with.
“Ridiculous! People are losing jobs all over the place & need financial advice!” agreed another.
“How rude DO THEY NOT KNOW WHO YOU ARE ?????” another fumed.
England take on Wales with coverage starting at 7.30pm.
