Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Conor Gallagher missed West Brom’s defeat to Southampton on Sunday because he was under the weather.
The Chelsea loanee played 90 minutes and even scored a penalty in the shoot-out as Albion were beaten by Brentford in the third round of the Carabao Cup last month, but he was unavailable last Saturday against parent club Chelsea.
Many expected Gallagher to be involved this past weekend against the Saints, but Bilic opted to leave him at home. The midfielder had not been feeling well, but it’s understood too that Bilic was keen to get a couple of weeks’ training into Gallagher – taking advantage of the coming international break before unleashing the loanee on Burnley later this month.

Jamie Soule is set to be the latest West Brom youngster to leave for a loan spell in the EFL.
The forward is believed to be closing in on a loan move to Lincoln City – that would make him the third young Albion player to make the move to Sincil Bank this summer.
GloucestershireLive report that a loan move is imminent.
Former Albion under 23s boss Michael Appleton, now in charge of the Imps, has already borrowed goalkeeper Alex Palmer and striker Callum Morton from the Baggies – after the pair had signed new deals at The Hawthorns – and Soule is expected to be another addition.
Kamil speaks out
Kamil Grosicki has committed himself to the West Brom cause on the day he was expected to leave The Hawthorns.
The Polish winger, who hasn’t figured in Slaven Bilic’s Premier League plans so far, is currently with Poland and is in training with his international teammates during the international break.
News broke on this transfer deadline day that Grosicki was the subject of an offer from Greek side Olympiakos, who would then in turn loan him to Championship outfit Nottingham Forest – the two clubs have a common owner, Evangelos Marinakis.
While Forest remain keen on the player, and could still do a deal with Albion before next Friday’s domestic deadline, Olympiakos have distanced themselves from suggestions that they have a part to play in the deal.
Where will Albion finish in the Premier League this season?

Five years on from his infamous Twitter outburst, Saido Berahino has clinched a move on the final day of the window – though it’s not to Spurs!
Former West Brom forward and academy product Berahino is off to French side Sporting de Charleroi on a loan deal. He has been playing his football in Belgium for Zulte Waregem.
Berahino scored 10 goals and registered four assists at Zulte where he has played 30 games having left Stoke last year.
