Nelson Semedo has reacted to his Wolverhampton Wanderers debut.
Semedo joined Wolves from FC Barcelona in a transfer which could rise to £36.6million at the beginning of last week.
The Portugal international made his first start for Wolves in last night’s shock 4-0 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium.
He was replaced by fellow new recruit Ki-Jana Hoever in the final 20 minutes and Nuno Espirito Santo admits his compatriot will need time to adapt to the Premier League.
Nuno said: “He arrived three, four days ago. He’s getting inside the idea of the team. What he needs is to play and to get knowledge of his teammates. He showed talent and quality, which is no doubt there. We have to find the best solution for him.”
But, despite the result, Semedo is delighted to have played his first game for Wolves and realised his dream of playing in the Premier League.
“Not the result we wanted, but I’m very happy for my debut with Wolves colours and in the Premier League. Let’s focus and work in the next game.”
Semedo is expected to continue at right wing-back when Wolves host Fulham at Molineux on Sunday.
