Leicestershire foodies will soon be able to experience street food from around the globe at a new county restaurant.
Market Street Kitchen is being launched in Lutterworth by the team behind The White Swan at Shawell.
The popular gastropub was awarded a second AA rosette earlier this year, and last year was named as one of Leicestershire’s top three pubs in the AA Pub Guide.
At the helm of The White Swan is chef patron Rory McClean, who has more than 13 years of experience within the fine dining sector, having worked at several Michelin Star restaurants in London, before taking on The White Swan in 2012.
Now, alongside the gastropub offering, Rory and his team are set to use their culinary expertise and passion to provide a different dining experience.
Market Street Kitchen will offer a wide selection of street food dishes from around the world, available as small plates and large plates – all of which are intended to be shared.
On the menu, you can expect to find dishes such as sticky pork cheek bao buns with wasabi mayo, MSK burger with bone marrow patty, smoked Gouda, maple bacon and truffle mayo, MSK ramen with pork belly, bone broth, noodles and kimchi (vegan option – crispy tofu, shitake, bok choy and noodles) and tiger prawn gyoza with daikon and ponzu sauce (vegan option – sweet potato gyoza).
Talking about the new restaurant, operations manager Claudia Rose Carter told LeicestershireLive: “Market Street Kitchen is a perfect reflection of our love of food, socialising and consolidating a harmony of cultures from across the globe.
“Our core team have travelled extensively and enjoyed a multitude of dining experiences, and we are assured in our ability to take inspiration from these to create an incredible atmosphere here in Lutterworth.
“Our menu is centred around street food with the quality you would expect from a kitchen with such experience.”
Downstairs, food and drinks will be available on a QR code/online ordering only basis, while the main dining space upstairs will offer full table service.
When it comes to the style of the restaurant, diners can expect to see brick walls, festoon lighting, a reclaimed wood bar and open bar shelving.
Downstairs will be lighter and brighter, while the dining space upstairs will be cosy and atmospheric, with an open kitchen pass.
A number of roles are available at Market Street Kitchen. These include host, bar manager, commis chef, bartender (full time and part time) and front of house ( full time and part time).
The restaurant is set to be open from 5pm to 9.30pm (last orders 9pm) Wednesday to Sunday. There will also be a brunch menu from 10am to 2pm (last orders 1.30pm) on Saturday and Sunday.
During weekdays, a section of the site will be open for takeaway coffee and potentially some deli-style food offerings. This will be called MSK On The Side and have its own door.
The MSK On The Side room in the evenings and weekends will then become a space where diners are greeted by a host, and where there will be a socially-distanced waiting space.
As you’d expect from the name, the new venue will be situated in Market Street, Lutterworth.
