A driver who was pulled over by police ended up ramming into their squad car before making his escape at high speed.
Two officers from the North West Leicestershire Neighbourhood Policing Area pulled the silver 4×4 over in Moira Road at about 9pm on Thursday, September 10, after noticing it may have had false number plates.
The driver did initially stop and one of the officers got out of the police car, but the 4×4 driver rammed into their police car head on, before driving off towards Ashby.

The officer managed to hit one of the windows of the suspect car and smashed it as it drove past.
Police are now making an appeal for witnesses in the hope the driver can be tracked down.
Detective sergeant David Wadsworth, from Coalville CID, said: “Our investigation into this incident – and attempts to locate the suspect vehicle – are continuing.
“As the car drove off, one of the officers managed to strike one of the back windows, causing it to break. He was lucky to escape without injury as the car made off at speed.
