A road in Nuneaton is closed this evening as firefighters deal with a huge field fire.
Police have cordoned off Ansley Road, stopping motorists from accessing the scene.
Three fire engines are battling the flames on the field at the Thorntons Way junction of Ansley Road.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said around 10 hectares of the field was on fire.
They added: “The fire is under control. Three hose reels, beaters and aqua packs in use.
“Crews are expected to be on site for a while to ensure the fire is completely out.”
It is not yet known how long the road will be closed for but police have advised motorists to avoid the area.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Officers and the fire service are currently in attendance at a field fire on Ansley Road.
“Road closures are in place on Ansley Road from Arley to Nuneaton and Thorntons Way.
“Please avoid the area where possible and take an alternative route. Thank you for your patience.”
