Coventry City’s return to the Championship may have ended in defeat, but Sky Blues fans remained upbeat after their side took to the game to Bristol City.
Mark Robins saw his side suffer a late and undeserved defeat to Bristol City, despite conceding after just 19 seconds!
The Sky Blues battled back and bossed a terrific first half, during which Matty Godden got them back on level terms.
Leo Ostigard went close to giving the visitors the lead in the second half when the Robins got themselves back into the game and bagged a winner eight minutes from time from the head of skipper Tomas Kalas.
The fans were disheartened though, taking the many positives away from the game.
Here’s what they had to say:
PJ Fitzpatrick: O’Hare was outstanding. Allen carrying over his losing the ball too deeply from pre-season. Lost momentum when Hamer went, should have got a rollicking from the bench and kept on.
SkyBlueFeta: Chin up lads start of a long season, Bristol City as an opening day fixture was always going to be a hard one to get anything from, but we gave a great account of ourselves & of what is to come from us this season! PUSB
Richard Coleman: I think we deserve a lot of credit and we will come back strong
@ellisdee123: We played well, once match fitness is back ain’t too many teams that will cope with that intensity for 90 mins, proud of the boys
julie corkery: Happy enough with that performance despite the result PUSB
Chris J. Ephgrave: We were the better team for a large part! Got to get faster and better conditioning.
stephen windridge: Even thou they lost it’s not upset my weekend
