Two men have been arrested after a man was left with serious injuries in a hit-and-run in Greengate Lane, Birstall.

Police were called just after 4pm on Tuesday, September 8, to the incident, which was reported to have involved a white Fiat 500 car.

East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the incident and the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He has since been discharged.

The car was reported to have been driven away from the scene following the crash.
