The coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we do a lot of things – but it appears to have ushered in a golden era of drive-in cinemas.
Nightflix has announced four new venues across the UK, including one in Warwickshire.
Traditional cinemas have mostly reopened, although film fans have had to wear a face covering since new government regulations came into force last month.
And with concerns about maintaining social distancing, drive-in cinemas have become more and more popular.
Nightflix will be screening timeless classic films from this Friday, September 11 at Stoneleigh Park in Kenilworth among other venues. The drive-in cinema will be open until the end of the year.
A spokesman said the new venues have been announced following “phenomenal public demand”.
Christopher Nolan’s new blockbuster Tenet will be spearheading the play list, but film lovers also have the opportunity to see Dirty Dancing, 1917 and Toy Story.
Nightflix owner John Sullivan said: “Following the amazing demand we’ve seen with our drive-in cinemas elsewhere in the UK, we are thrilled to bring this experience to a much wider audience.
“The fact we can show timeless classics alongside Tenet means there is always a scheduled film to suit a huge range of tastes, and means viewers can see an outstanding film from the comfort of their car.”
What Covid safety guidelines will be in force?
A spokesman said audience safety is at the centre of their event planning and all government guidelines on social distancing will be followed, including track and trace measures.
