Popular BBC crime drama Line of Duty has started filming its newest season and the stars of the show have given fans a glimpse into behind the scenes.
Season six of the hit show, which was created by Jed Mercurio – who is also the mind behind BBC’s The Bodyguard – resumed filming earlier this week after having to stop due to the pandemic.
And Vicky McClure, who plays Kate Fleming, and Martin Compston, who plays Steve Arnott, have shared images from behind the scenes of filming.
In one image that Martin shared on his Instagram he could be seen in his character’s trademark waistcoat while cameras filmed the scene unfolding in front of them.
While Vicky shared a selection of images on her Instagram which revealed that although they’re back filming, some things are a little different.
In several of the behind the scenes images, other crew members could be seen donning Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including face maks.
And in another shot where Vicky was getting ready for shooting, her makeup artist could be seen in full PPE including a face mask, visor as well as a protective suit.
In August latecomers to the show or hardcore fans were given the opportunity to re-watch the first episode which originally aired eight years ago in June 2012.
But when will the sixth season air and will it be the last?
A broadcast date has yet to be announced but in a Q&A following the repeat in August, creator Jed Mercurio said: “We’d love to be on air next year, so we really have to make sure we complete our filming before Christmas.”
Another season has not yet been commissioned so it is uncertain as to whether this will be the final season.
