A dispersal order giving police powers to force people to leave Edgwick Park and its surrounding areas will be extended tonight.
An order was put in place at the park on Friday evening at 7pm and was due to end tonight at 7pm.
But West Midlands Police has been granted an extension to the order that will see it remain until 7pm on Tuesday (September 1).
The Foleshill park has seen a number of orders placed on it in recent weeks following “numerous incidents of anti-social behaviour and violence”.
This includes a shooting earlier in August, during which an 18-year-old suffered a gunshot wound.
No-one has been held responsible for the shooting, with no arrests made to date, though police have confirmed that enquiries are still ongoing.
The order gives officers the power to order anyone “likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress” to leave the area under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014
