A popular bar in Cheltenham has revealed a sneak peek at what to expect when they finally reopen after undergoing a complete renovation.
When the sign above Bentleys in Cheltenham High Street disappeared some people thought it had closed down for good but the bar is set to reopen tomorrow (Friday, August 28) after undergoing a complete refurbishment.
The owners of the venue, who also own The Lounge next door, had always planned to renovate the building and having to close during lockdown provided them with the perfect opportunity to do so.
With everything from new flooring and new signs to new furniture, a completely new bar as well as transforming an old kitchen are into new toilets. It was said that ‘not much of the old building would be left.’
Work has been carried out over the last few weeks by companies VIP Properties and LK Flooring with an original view to open in July when the Government announced that pubs and bars could reopen.
However that was pushed back initially to last week but now Bentleys will open tomorrow.
Work is still underway ahead of its opening but you can take a sneak peek at what the venue looks like in the gallery below:
In June, the bar’s office manager, Paul Hatfield, said because there was a new sign and because of the scaffolding some people thought it had closed.
But he explained that they are in fact just utilising the time and giving the venue a facelift.
