A driver died after his car overturned when he suffered a medical episode behind the wheel.
His car struck the back of a van and a lamppost before o verturning in Walsall Road, Perry Barr on Sunday afternoon, August 23.
He was understood to have been taken ill at the wheel, leading to the crash at the junction of Perry Avenue around 2.15pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by an air ambulance doctor.
Perry Barr flyover and some roads off Walsall Road were closed off while emergency services recovered the damaged vehicle.
The No.52 bus service was still being diverted around the scene at 6.30pm, National Express said.
No-one else was hurt in the collision, police confirmed.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were alerted to a collision at the junction of Perry Avenue and Walsall Road at around 2.15pm today.
“It’s understood the driver of a car suffered a medical episode at the wheel before hitting the back of a van and a lamppost and flipping onto its roof.
“The man was sadly pronounced dead by an air ambulance doctor. No-one else was injured.
“Perry Barr flyover and some roads off Walsall Road was closed to allow emergency vehicles to attend the scene and to recover the damaged car.”
