Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash that has shut the A6003 in Rutland.
The road links Uppingham with Caldecott and Corby and police have warned that it may remain shut for some time.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended along with colleagues from Northamptonshire fire service and the female casualty had to be cut free from her vehicle after the crash, which was a head-on collision involving two vehicles.
Rutland Police said in a tweet at about 7.30pm: “Road traffic collision on the A6003 between Caldecott and Uppingham.
“Road is closed and will be for some time whilst we deal with the incident.
“Please if possible avoid the area.”
A diversion has been put in place while police deal with the incident, which was first reported at about 6.40pm this evening.
